The Helios 300’s one-piece Precision Touchpad is responsive and worked well for standard gestures in our tests. We found a plastic opening tool helpful to get started, but we didn’t have any trouble opening the Nitro 5. Its keyboard and trackpad are responsive and comfortable, and the laptop is easy to upgrade if you want more storage in the future. That refresh rate will sate professional esports players and it’ll make any game look butter-smooth, with consistently sharp, blur-free motion. Its weaker graphics won’t play all the newest, most demanding games as well and it doesn’t support VR, but it is powerful enough for classic titles and less demanding modern games. These high refresh rates can be beneficial for some extremely fast-paced games, particularly titles played competitively online, including stalwarts such as CS:GO, DOTA 2, and Overwatch, and the more recent trio of Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone.
